"Vortex" is a 7-foot stainless-steel slice of sensuality that speaks of human nature and the attraction of opposites. "Vortex" reflects the coming together of two divergent elements: steel and glass. The foundation of the piece is set in steel, and a collection of glass forms illuminate neon light from within. In "Vortex," the union of glass and steel is somewhat of a contrast – both in form and idea – yet these two distinct elements are joined so intimately it’s as if they are one.
